Broccoli 65 is a delicious and crispy fritter. It is prepared by deep frying batter coated blanched broccoli to perfection.

This broccoli 65/ broccoli fritter is such an easy and handy snack recipe to satisfy that small evening hunger. It involves few basic ingredients that can be easily pulled out of the pantry.


We all love to relish Gobi 65 or Chicken 65. Since I had lot of broccoli at home thought to make this broccoli 65. Also broccoli is good source of Fiber, Vitamins B6, K, E, Phosphorus, Iron, Zinc and so on. So its good to add it in our diet with different recipes. You could check other broccoli recipes below.

Everyone prepares 65 recipe in various styles meaning the batter has different ingredients. But this particular recipe is in my style which is always relished by my family.

I have mentioned in few of my previous posts as well that when it rains outside I make fried snacks just like anyone else. Guess this is a late post! But we have love extra space in our tummies for fritters and dessert.

Broccoli 65 is a delicious and crispy fritter. It is prepared by deep frying batter coated blanched broccoli to perfection.

Ingredients to make Broccoli 65

  • 1 nos., Broccoli ā€“ small floret

  • 1/2 cup, Maida

  • 1/4 cup, Corn flour

  • 1/4 cup, Rice flour

  • 1 teaspoon, Red chilli powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon, Garam masala powder

  • Salt ā€“ to taste

  • 2 tablespoon, Curd

  • 1/4 cup, Water (approx.)

  • Oil ā€“ for deep fry

Directions to make Broccoli 65

  • Cut broccoli into bite size pieces as show in the picture. Heat water in a pan. When it boils add salt and broccoli florets. Boil it in hot water for 1 minute. After 1 minute drain the water and keep the broccoli floretsĀ aside.
  • In a wide bowl add besan, ginger garlic paste, curd, garam masala, red chili powder and salt. Add 2 to 3 tbsp water to make to thick paste. Now add blanched broccoli to the batter. Mix/ massage gently the masala on to the broccoli florets and let it rest for 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan. Now drop individual batter coated broccoli florets in oil one by one in the preheated hot oil. (Make sure to dip/ coat florets well in the batter before dropping it in oil)
  • Fry them in medium until desired color is achieved with cooked interior. When done remove the broccoli using a slotted spoon and transfer it to a plate with paper towel. After removing broccoli from oil, in the oil fry some curry leaves for garnish and serve them along with hot broccoli 65 with tea/ coffee!

  • * 1 cup = 235 ml

How to make Broccoli 65 with step by step images
