Sheer khurma/ Sheer khorma is a delicious dessert prepared with vermicelli, milk and lots of nuts. This easy and quick to make dessert/ sweet plays an integral part of EID, yes the festival is fulfilled only when this sweet is tasted. Whenever the name of this pudding/ dessert is called for only 2 things come in the mind one is MILK and the other one is DATES from where all the taste comes from. This recipe uses thin vermicelli/ nylon vermicelli for its making since I dint have that at home I prepared this recipe with regular roasted vermicelli , which also tastes good. So try making this exquisite dessert at home for this EID and fall in deep love with it. So lets get to the making!

Ingredients
  1. 1. Vermicelli/ Seviyan – ½ cup
  2. 2. Whole milk – 2 cups (Full cream/ Full fat)
  3. 3. Water – ½ cup
  4. 4. Chopped nuts – ½ cup (cashews, almonds, pistachios, charmagaz, chiroli)
  5. 5. Dates – 4
  6. 6. Raisins – 1 tsp
  7. 7. Ghee – 1 tbsp
  8. 8. Sugar – ½ cup
Note
  1. * 1 cup = 235 ml
Instructions
  1. Heat ghee in a small pan, add chopped nuts, raisins and date. Roast it for a minute in low to medium flame.
  2. After a minute remove the nuts from the pan to a plate/ bowl. Now in the same pan add 1 tsp ghee and vermicelli. Roast it for few seconds. I used roasted vermicelli so I skipped this step. Now add water and mix well. Allow it to boil well. When vermicelli looks cooked add milk and mix well.Allow it to boil well.
  3. When the mixture starts to boil add sugar, cardamom powder and the ghee fried nuts. Give it a stir and allow the mixture to boil well until everything is combined really well. Now put off the flame. Serve it warm/ chilled!

  1. Chop all the nuts, raisins and dates finely. Now heat 1 tbsp ghee in a small pan, add chopped nuts, raisins and date. Roast it for a minute in low to medium flame. After a minute remove the nuts from the pan to a plate/ bowl.
