Ingredients
- 1. Chicken- ½ kg
- 2. Big onion – 1 (2 medium sized)
- 3. Green chili – 2
- 4. Ginger garlic paste- 1 tsp
- 5. Red chili powder- ½ tsp
- 6. Coriander powder- ½ tsp
- 7. Turmeric powder- ¼ tsp
- 8. Garam masala powder- ½ tsp
- 9. Freshly ground pepper- 2 to 3 tsp
- 10. Salt- to taste
- 11. Cumin seeds - ½ tsp
- 12. Oil - 1 tbsp
- 13. Curry leaves - a spring
Instructions
- Wash chicken and keep it aside. Chop onion finely and make slit in green chilli. Keep it aside.
- Heat oil in a pan add cumin seeds when it crackles add chopped onion and green chilli. Saute well and add ginger garlic paste. Saute well until the raw smell goes.
- Now add the chicken pieces, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder and garam masala powder. Mix well and cook chicken so that they get coated well in masala.
- When the chicken is half done add pepper to it and mix well. Cook chicken till fully done until all the water is evaporated and and a thick masala is formed. when oil oozes in the sides of the pan/ kadai put off the flame. Serve it hot with rice, roti or chapati.
