Air fryer tandoori chicken wings is a spicy, juicy and delicious appetizer prepared by Air frying marinated pieces of chicken wings to perfection. Yes unbelievable texture was achieved in the Air fryer and as it looks it tasted great as well. Cut, marinate and hassle free Air fry to prepare these tandoori wings which can be prepared in bulk/ small quantity to be served for your family members or to be starred in party/ potluck.

This is my version of tandoori wings which is always devoured by my family and friends, just trued making it Air fryer for first and turned out great and yummy. I tried making this recipe the very first tim ein Air fryer but have tried a lot of recipes in AIR FRYER and have posted few like these:

Back to the recipe, I have used Kasuri methi to give distinct taste and flavor also I have used sour curd because of which I have skipped lemon, you could try using lemon as well for marination. I used Kashmiri red chili powder for that awesome color and you guys know well I don’t use food color in any of my dishes. If you don’t have/ don’t use Air fryer you can try baking in the oven as well by preheating it to 400F and baking for 25 to 30 minutes and broil for 2 minutes to that charred flavor.

Ingredients
  1. 1. Chicken wings- 15 pcs/ 1.5 lb/ ½ kg (approx)
  2. 2. Ginger garlic paste– 1 tbsp
  3. 3. Red chili powder – 1 tsp
  4. 4. Salt – to taste
  5. 5. Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  6. 6. Garam masala powder – 1tsp
  7. 7. Coriander powder – ½ tsp
  8. 8. Kasuri methi – 1 tsp
  9. 9. Curd – 1 ½ tbsp
  10. 10. Oil – 1 tbsp
Note
  1. * 1 cup = 235 ml
Instructions
  1. Cut chicken wings into 3 pieces. Wash it thoroughly. In a bowl add the chicken wings, ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, coriander powder, curd, kasuri methi, garam masala and chili powder. Mix it well and allow it to marinate for about 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  2. After 30 minutes to 1 hour preheat Air fryer at 400 for 5 minutes. ( I have CRUX air fryer at home and the below mentioned cook time suits me, timing may vary a little according to the brand)
  3. When the air fryer is preheated brush a tbsp of oil on the baking rack/ place a parchment paper on the baking rack (prevents chicken from sticking) then place the chicken pieces one by one evenly without overcrowding. Do not brush oil over the chicken pieces as the fat from the chicken skin will be enough to roast it.. Now cook for 10 minutes.
  4. After 10 minutes remove the rack from the air fryer and flip the chicken pieces and cook for 5 more minutes again. After 5 minutes you will notice that the chicken is evenly and cooked crisp. Serve the chicken hot with mint raita and air fry the next batch.

How to make Air fryer tandoori chicken wings with step by step images


  1. Cut chicken wings into 3 pieces. Wash it thoroughly. In a bowl add the chicken wings, ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, coriander powder, curd, kasuri methi, garam masala and chili powder. Mix it well and allow it to marinate for about 30 minutes to 1 hour.
