Ingredients
- 1. Green chana- 1 cup
- 2. Onion – 1 (medium sized)
- 3. Tomato – 2 (ground paste)
- 4. Green chilli – 2
- 5. Potato/ Aloo – ½ cup (cubed)
- 6. Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
- 7. Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
- 8. Coriander powder – ½ tsp
- 9. Garam masala powder – ½ tsp
- 10. Salt – to taste
- 11. Turmeric powder- ¼ tsp
- 12. Cumin seeds – ½ tsp
- 13. Oil – 1 tbsp
NOTE
- * 1 cup = 235 ml
Instructions
- Wash and soak green chana overnight. Now heat oil in a pressure cooker then add cumin seeds when it crackles add chopped onions and green chilli. Saute well and add ginger garlic paste to it. Saute well till the raw aroma goes.
- When the raw aroma of ginger garlic paste has gone add ground tomato paste, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder and salt. Mix well and cook till the raw smell of masala goes.
- Now add potato cubes and soaked green chana dal along with 2 cups of water to the tomato mixture and mix well. Now allow the mixture to boil well. When the mixture has started to boil close it and pressure cook for 4 to 5 whistles in medium flame. When the pressure has subsided allow it to rest for 5 more minutes. Now open the cooker. Now the subzi/ curry is ready. Serve it hot with roti, chapati or jeera rice!
