A traditional chutney of South India which serves as side dish for most varieties of breakfast. This is a simple and quick chutney made with coconut and can be prepared within minutes. It tastes delicious even though it has only few ingredients in its preparation. So lets grind it!
- Grated coconut – 1/2 cup
- Gram dal – 2 tbsp
- Green chili – 1
- Salt to taste
- Water for grinding
- Oil – 1 tsp
- Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
- Urad dal – 1 tsp
- Curry leaves a spring
How to make coconut chutney with step by step images
- In blender/mixie add grated coconut , gram dal, green chili and salt. Grind it to chutney consistency by adding little water.
- Heat a small pan with oil and add mustard seeds, urad dal , curry leaves and hing. When dal turns golden brown put off the flame and add it to the chutney.
- Serve it with idly, ven pongal , dosa or dish of your choice.
