Pumpkin seed halwa recipe, Easy halwa recipe

Pumpkin seed halwa is a quick and easy to make lip smacking sweet that can be easily prepared with very few ingredients in just 20 minutes without much of stirring or procedures. In the starting of the year everyone prepares sweet and sometimes those like me would surely love to prepare or try something new yet easy recipe so thought to share this innovative recipe that I learnt from my mom. not only the halwa is super easy to make it also uses very quantity of ghee compared to other regular halwa yet resulting in much of taste which is again  a plus point. For this recipe I used the packeted pumpkin seeds (green color) with no added flavors so make sure not to get salted ones. So let’s get to the making!

How to make Pumpkin seed halwa with step by step images

  1. Soak pumpkin seeds in water for 1 to 2 hours. Soaking is a compulsory step which helps in grinding the seeds so don’t skip this step.
  2. Now in a blender add soaked pumpkin seeds into paste adding little water. I used around ¼ cup water for grinding. Do not add too much water while grinding.
  3. Heat ghee in a nonstick pan/ kadai, to it add the pumpkin mixture. Mix the mixture well and soon you will find a crumbled texture  (just like paneer crumbles).
  4. Now to the crumbled mixture add milk and mix well. Allow the mixture to cook well in low to medium flame until the mixture becomes dry. I put lid on while cooking the mixture. This should take about 10 minutes.
  5. After 10 minutes of cooking when the mixture looks dry add sugar, mix well and the mixture will get little water and again it will get dry. Cook for 2 minutes.
  6. After 2 minutes of cooking add ghee to the mixture. Cook for 1 minute and the halwa will start leaving the pan/ kadai which means halwa is ready to be served.
