Green Chutney recipe, How to make green chutney for chaat snacks

Green chutney is a very quick and easy to make chutney with the flavors of both mint and cilantro, added the tanginess from lime juice is used for making or serving with lot of chaat recipes, snacks and sandwiches. Green chutney demands very few ingredients in its making and just one simple procedure GRIND. Everyone makes green chutney in their own style also this particular recipe has lot of variations according everyone’s taste but my green chutney recipe is spicy, little tangy, bit sugary and loaded with flavors to any chat snacks. So when I post this recipe I know most you might have guessed that my next recipe is all about a chaat item not to forget in my style simplified, quick, innovative and yummy version as well. Don’t forget to check out the tamarind chutney/ sonth chutney as well! So lets get to the making of green chutney!

Ingredients

  • Mint – ½ cup
  • Cilantro – ½ cup
  • Ginger – tiny chunk
  • Green chilli – 1
  • Lemon juice – 1 tsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Sugar – 1/8 tsp
  • Water – 1/3 cup (approx)

How to make green chutney with step by step images


  1. In a blender add mint, cilantro, green chilli, lemon juice, salt, sugar and ginger chunk. Grind it into paste adding little water according to the desired consistency. I used only 1/3 cup of water while grinding as i required that consistency for my chutney , you can add water accordingly. When done transfer it to a bowl and use as spread on bread or chaat items of your choice!
