Ingredients
- Poha/ Aval – 1 ½ cup
- Onion – 1
- Tomato – 2
- Green chilli – 2
- Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
- Coriander powder – ½ tsp
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Cumin seeds – ¼ tsp
- Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
- Channa dal – 1 tsp
- Urad dal – 1 tsp
- Curry leaves – a spring
- Oil – 1 tbsp
How to make tomato poha with step by step images

- Wash and soak poha for 10 minutes with little water. After 10 minutes drain the excess water and keep it aside.
- Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, after it splutters, add cumin seeds, after it crackles add urad dal and channa dal, after it turns golden brown, add curry leaves, chopped onion and green chilli. Saute well.
- Now add chopped tomatoes, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and salt. Mix well and let the tomatoes cook.
- When the tomatoes look cooked add soaked poha. Mix well a little gently so that you don’t break poha or change its texture. Cover it with a lid and cook for 5 – 7 minutes with flame on low. When done put off the flame and serve it hot!
