Heart shaped cookies recipe, Shortbread cookies

Ingredients
- 1. All purpose flour/ Maida – ½ cup
- 2. Powdered sugar – ¼ cup
- 3. Melted butter– ¼ cup
- 4. Vanilla syrup – ½ tsp
- 5. Sprinkles – 1 tbsp (Red, pink and white)
Note
- * 1 cup = 235 ml
Instructions
- In a blender add sugar and grind it into powder and keep it aside.
- In a bowl add maida/ all purpose flour, ¼ cup powdered sugar, melted butter and vanilla syrup. Mix well and it will slowly form a soft dough. Now add sprinkles to the dough and combine it.
- Preheat oven at 350F/ 180C . Now pinch a small portion of cookie dough, make it into a ball and then flatten it gently and using a heart shaped cookie cutter cut the dough into heart shape and keep it aside. This method yields thick cookies. I made this type cookies as I dint want it to be flat.
- You can roll the whole ball of cookie dough on a wax paper/ parchment paper and place the heart shaped cookie cutter and cut as many as heart shaped cookie dough. But this method game to thin cookies so I went on with the above method. Repeat the process till all the cookie/ biscuit dough is complete.
- Place a butter paper/ wax paper/ parchment paper on a baking tray. Now place the heart shaped cookie dough one by one with enough spacing between each cookie.
- Place the baking tray in the oven and bake the cookies/ biscuits for 12 minutes or till cookies are done. When sides are browned remove the biscuits from oven, place it on a cooling tray for it to cool down. Initially when the cookies are taken from oven they will be soft and fragile as they cool down they will harden. When the biscuits have cooled serve them with tea/ coffee and store the remaining cookies in air tight container.
