Bread pudding is an easy and quick to make melt in mouth dessert prepared by layering bread cubes, milk and finally topped with raisins and baked to perfection. This recipe is usually prepared with eggs/ custard powder along with other ingredients but that again depends on your liking. So the below recipe is an eggless version so it can be relished by anyone.

Bread pudding is often made when there is stale bread at home but for this recipe I have used fresh bread slices only. This easy and hassle free recipe can be prepared in jiffy and all the work is done in the oven. This is a very easy Iftar pudding dessert as well and it can be made more healthy by adding chopped apples as well while baking. Traditionally recipes uses sugar for sweetness but I used condensed milk in this recipe as I had it at home, but you can use regular sugar. When you cut this dessert it gets little messy but its okay it tastes. This eggless bread pudding dessert tastes best when served warm and you will really melt in its taste. Also you can try adding your favorite nuts to be topped along with raisins but it will just be little deviated from the taste and look of traditional recipe. So let’s get to the making!

Ingredients
  1. 1. Bread slices – 4
  2. 2. Milk – 1 cup
  3. 3. Condensed milk – ¼ to ½ cup (depending on sweetness)
  4. 4. Vanilla syrup – 1 tsp
  5. 5. Raisins – 8 to 10
  6. 6. Unsalted butter– ½ tsp + ½ tsp
  7. 7. Sugar – 1 tsp
Note
  1. * 1 cup = 235 ml
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven at 350F/ 180C. Take the bread slices and slice the brown edges and discard it. Cut the bread slices into small squares. Keep it aside.
  2. In a bowl add milk, unsalted butter (at room temperature), condensed milk and vanilla syrup. Mix well until combined.
  3. Now grease an oven safe bowl it can be either oval/ square/ rectangle with unsalted butter. Now arrange half of the bread cubes as bottom layer then pour half if the milk mixture in it.
  4. Now arrange the remaining bread cubes as last layer then add the remaining milk mixture to it. Make the bread is soaked well in milk. Press it gently so gets soaked. Now place the raisins on the top of the bread slices. Sprinkle some sugar on it.
  5. Place the bowl in preheated oven and bake for 35 to 40 minutes. When done remove it from the oven and slice it and relish it warm.
