Jackfruit appam recipe, Chakka appam

Jackfruit appam/ Jackfruit sweet paniyaram is a soft, spongy, fluffy and delicious sweet prepared with raw rice, ripe jackfruit and jaggery. Yes regular nei appam batter is given a twist by adding jackfruit which makes the dish flavorful and super delish. I  prepared this jackfruit sweet paniyaram in appe pan but you can try deep frying as well, but making it in appe pan is more healthy.

Last week we found this jackfruit in store and since the the number of chakka/ jackfruit was more I wanted to make some new recipe with it so tried making appam and it turned out super hit at home. We usually add ripe bananas to the sweet paniyaram/ appam, adding chakka/ ripe jackruit gives the nei appam a unique taste and flavorful. I have heard that people make instant appam with chakka/ jackfruit using rice flour or wheat flour since I was not sure about the outcome tried to make in traditional method by soaking and grinding rice. I cooked the sweet appam with ghee as it enhances the taste, so don’t skip it.  So let’s get to the making of jackfruit nei appam!
