They need to be consumed on a regular basis either raw or cooked as they are packed with lot of nutrients and is the most healthiest food on planet. They are good to make salads, green juice, curry and lot more. Though they are fast growing plants and produce lush leaves they are short lived depending on the climate.
How to grow spinach
Plant them in spring or before the last frost in spring as they are little frost tolerant.
They require well drained soil and nitrogen rich soil.
They grow well in full sun but when placed in partial sun also they produce decent amount of yield.
They are happy plants and produce tender leaves when fed with fertilizer as they are heavy feeders. Fertilize them every 2 to 3 weeks.
Water them adequately.
Harvest them by pinching the leaves as needed. Continuous harvest will help prolong production.
Aphids and spider mites are common problems for spinach in garden.

Hello and welcome. I’m Sandhya—the hands, heart, and stories behind Sandyathome
This blog was never planned. It began quietly—just like the way my mother and grandmother used to cook.
No measurements. No books. Just feeling.
Growing up, I didn’t realize I was being shaped by their everyday magic. The gentle clinking of ladles, the warm smell of curry leaves crackling in oil, the quiet hum of love in every dish—they stayed with me.
I didn’t inherit written recipes.
But I inherited something far deeper—the emotion of cooking, the way food could heal, gather, and speak when words fall short.
