ellu sadam

Ellu sadam recipe, Sesame rice

Ellu sadam/ Sesame rice is a very quick and easy to make variety rice that can be made with freshly ground sesame podi/ ellu podi. This flavorful rice is a very popular kalavai sadam during purattasi, adi perukku and often offered as prasad/ neivedhyam in temples, also is made as quick lunch at home. Ellu sadam can be prepared with White sesame seeds/ Black sesame seeds and in this post I have made this ellu podi with white sesame seeds also used boiled rice for mixing the podi as I like its binding flavors. If you want your rice to be long you can use pachai arisi/ Raw rice. Also this sesame podi stays good for a week or 2 good in air tight container and can be used anytime to be mixed with cooked rice and relish it. I have also posted other variety recipes like these:

So let’s get to the making!
