Rotta is a traditional Arya Vysya recipe which serves as one of our breakfast. It is easy to make as it requires only 4 ingredients to taste its deliciousness. My mom usually makes this recipe and is accompanied with spicy chutney. This rotta can be prepared as dosa or can be transformed into three delicious dishes .
My mom makes the above varieties occasionally when we get bored of the usual dosa type rotta. Ultimately all tastes delicious. So lets learn to make this simple rotta first then go ahead with variations.

- Raw rice – 2 cups
- Grated coconut – 1 cup
- Salt to taste

How to make rotta with step by step images
- Wash and Soak rice in water for 3 hours. In a blender add the soaked rice, coconut and salt ; grind into fine batter. The batter needs to look like milkshake.
- Pour a ladle of batter on heated tava and drizzle fewdrops of oil. When one side done flip to other side.
- Serve hot with onion tomato chutney!
