Soya chunks, How to cook soya chunks

Soya chunks are vegetable protein often used by vegetarians to replace meat in cooking and a variety of dishes can be prepared with it. Soya chunks are known in different names like soya meat, meal maker, soya protein and soya nugget. I thought of posting this as few of my friends asked me as to how to cook soya chunks so I think this post will be useful for all other friends who still have doubts about it. So lets get to know!

Ingredients

  • Soya chunk – 1 cup
  • Water – 2 cup
  • Milk – 1 tsp

How to cook soya chunk with step by step images


  1. Heat water in a pan/ pot. When you see the water rolling boil add the soya chunks in it and cook for 1 to 2 minutes then add milk to it and put off the flame.
  2. Drain the excess water from the soya chunks using strainer / colander. Now the soya chunks would have doubled in size and are ready to be used in cooking!
