Soya chunk/ Meal maker fry is a simple and quick to make side dish prepared with few basic ingredients. This soya chunk fry tastes great when served with simple pulao/ roti. This can be easily prepared on working days and is a lunch box friendly dish as it is fry/ masala which means no leaking/ mess. For more flavor and crunchiness you can try adding capsicum slices to this dish. So lets get to the making!

Ingredients
Soya chunks/ Meal maker – 1 cup
Onion – 1 (medium sized)
Tomato – 1 (large sized)
Green chilli – 2
Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
Garam masala powder – ½ tsp
Salt – to taste
Cumin seeds/ Jeera – ¼ tsp
Coriander leaves – 1 tbsp (chopped)
Oil – 1 tbsp

How to make Soya chunk fry with step by step images
In a pot of water add salt. When the water starts boiling add soya chunks in it. Allow the mixture to boil well for 8 to 10 minutes. Allow the soya chunks in the water for 5 minutes. now you will see that the soya chunks is doubled in size.
Drain the water and squeeze excess water from soya chunk and allow it to cool down.
Now heat oil in a pan add cumin seeds when it splutters add sliced onions and green chilli. Saute well. When onions look sauteed add ginger garlic paste to it and saute until the raw smell goes.
Now add the chopped tomatoes along with salt, turmeric powder, chilli powder and garam masala powder. Mix well. Cook the mixture till the tomatoes get soft.
When tomatoes are soft enough add cooked soya chunks and ¼ cup water mix well. Allow the soya chunks to coat in masala well. When everything looks combined and garnish it with chopped coriander leaves. Serve it hot with pulao, chapati or roti!
