Ragi roti/ Finger millet roti is a soft, delicious and healthy flatbread as finger millet is rich in calcium, is a good source of fiber and also aids in weight as well apart from several other benefits. I have earlier posted many recipes with ragi/ millet flour in the blog but have always been thinking to try this ragi rotti and wanting to post it for more than a year but the flight never took off for some reason. And finally it is here. Hurrayyy!!!

Instructions
  1. In a wide bowl add ragi flour, wheat flour, oil and salt. Mix well. Now to this flour mixture add hot water gradually. Use a spatula/ spoon to mix the dough as it will be very hot to knead with hand. Now using your hands knead it into soft dough. Allow the dough to rest for 20 minutes.
  2. After 20 minutes knead the dough once. Now divide the dough into equal sized balls.
  3. Now sprinkle some wheat flour in the rolling space. Place a dough ball on the flour and flatten it using rolling pin gently and you will notice few cracks in the sides which is normal. Flatten the dough gently as it will tear easily. Roll/ flatten it to the size of regular chapati/ roti.
  4. Heat a roti tawa. When the roti tawa is hot place the flattened roti on preheated tawa. When the roti starts to puff flip it gently. Apply oil or ghee and remove from the tawa when both sides look cooked.
  5. Alternatively you can place the roti on the tawa cook both sides, without oil then place it on direct flame and cook as well. As soon the roti puffs transfer the roti to plate and immediately apply oil/ ghee. Serve it hot with curry of your choice. Repeat the process till all the ragi roti dough is complete.
