Rava payasam, Sooji kheer recipe

Rava payasam is a very easy, quick and delicious payasam with handful basic ingredients in its making. Rava payasam is prepared by boiling ghee roasted rava in milk and sugar then served. This payasam can be prepared for any occasion or festival and can be served hot or chilled. Rava payasam has always been my top priority payasam over sago and vermicelli paysam. So lets quickly get to the making!

Ingredients

  • Rava/Sooji – 1/3 cup
  • Milk – 1 ½ cup
  • Water – ½ cup
  • Sugar – ¼ cup
  • Cardamom powder – a pinch
  • Ghee – 1 tsp
  • Cashews – 5

How to make rava payasam with step by step images

  1. Heat ghee in a pan add cashews and fry them golden brown. Now add rava in it, roast it until aromatic in low flame.

  2. Pour water to the roasted rava and mix well. When the rava mixture is boiling add milk and give it a good stir. When the rava milk mixture boils add sugar and cardamom powder. Mix well and put off the flame after one boil. Serve it!
